The Dept. of Veterans Affairs has an excellent online tool kit for a FALLS PREVENTION program. It’s available for free, and full of good ideas. CNA’s are a vital part of their program!
Many facilities are working to find ways to reduce the number of falls as well as the severity of the falls that do occur. In an effort to help facilities, we created the Falls Toolkit.
The Falls Toolkit provides information on:
• Designing a falls prevention and management program
• Effective interventions for high-risk fall patients
• Implementing hip protectors for high-risk fall patients
• Educating patients, families and staff on falls and fall-injury prevention
The Kit is available for download in PDF or WORD format.
One can print these materials and place them into a binder and put it to use right away. Hand outs, posters and other educational materials are all part of this program, which looks to be comprehensive and thorough.

I’m inquiring if anyone has ever heard of a product called sure step. This product is a chemical that is applied to floors which makes them completely slip resistant when wet
