    Now this is just wrong.

Find a new place to live. That’s what dozens of elderly and disabled residents of one local nursing home now have to do. The Capitol City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is shutting down.

It’s becoming a case of “he-said, she-said” as families scramble to make new living arrangements. They’re loading up and moving out. They are nursing home residents, and they need new places to live, now that the Capitol City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is voluntarily shutting down.

KXAN’s Sonta Henderson said: “You’re voluntarily closing your doors, but there’s no other reason that you have to shut down here.”
Human Resources Vice President Sarah McDougald said: “We did have some outstanding deficiencies with the state.”

And that’s why the state yanked its license two weeks ago.

Henderson said: “What are some of the deficiencies that the state talked about?”
McDougald said: “I really can’t discuss that with you.”

It sounds like this place either had severe deficiencies and could not be bothered to correct them all- or- the owners just decided it wasn’t worth the money to keep the place open irregardless of the problems with the state. The residents are better off, even though this is difficult. It’s wrong for this facility to do this, in this manner though.
