I don’t know anyone who cares for Beverly Enterprises, as owners of nursing homes. All I have ever heard is BAD things about them. This just adds to my opinion:

Attorney General Mike Beebe announced today that his office has reached a settlement with Beverly Enterprises, resolving 26 investigations by the Attorney General’s Office involving 12 Beverly-operated nursing homes. The investigations centered on allegations of mistreatment and neglect of residents in those homes.

“Nursing homes must be held accountable for their actions,” Beebe said. “Our seniors deserve safe, high-quality and compassionate nursing-home care.” Beebe said.

Under the terms of the settlement, Beverly has paid $1,000,000 into the Arkansas Medicaid Program Trust Fund. In addition, Beverly has agreed to invest a minimum of $500,000 to improve their nursing homes in Arkansas.

“With an aging population, Arkansas has a growing need for first-rate facilities and skilled staff to properly care for our seniors,” Beebe added. “This settlement will help provide better care and treatment for vulnerable residents already living in these nursing homes.”

The settlement requirements include programs to recognize, treat and prevent pressure sores and other patient-care injuries, to reduce falls among residents, and to prevent narcotics abuse by staff members. Under the terms of the settlement, Beverly does not admit or acknowledge any violations in their Arkansas nursing-home facilities.

The investigations included homes in Saline, Greene, Craighead (2 homes), Pulaski, Clark, Desha, Lincoln, White, Cleburne, Garland and Crawford Counties.

    1. Ruth Davis Says:

I live in Florence Alabama and there was another case against Beverly neglecting an elderly man. Doyle Young was his name. He died from his neglect from what I understand. I’ve not even seen it in the papers here. This was a well known man in this community. He was a lawyer.

Why does this company keep getting away with this horrendous elderly abuse……..

    2. Carl Schmidt Says:

Beverly owned nursing home at Mount Holly in Louisville Ky. has numerous incidents of neglect. Currently investigating abuse to residents.
