Amee would like to answers to these questions:

I have a project and I wanted to know can I ask you a few questions.

      1. what positive leadership traits are needed in your profession?

CNA’s need to be upbeat. They need to think positively because negativy effects the residents/patients moods and general well being. Positive traits also would include being honest, working hard, having integrity, having good work ethics.

2.What are some negative traites that must be avoided in your profession?

Getting caught up with others who are not happy. These folks spread rumors, spread ill will and general make the unit a negative place to work. Again, dishonesty, poor work ethics (calling in all the time, showing up late) are also very tangible traits that must be avoided.

3.Explain educational backgrond needed for your profession.

Most states have easy requirements to become a CNA. A high school diploma or a GED is needed.

4.Is continuing education required for continued Licensure?

Every state has different requirements, but yes, CNA’s usually must attend ay least 12 hours of in services a year.

5.What salary range for your profession?

6.What is the expected growth in your profession for the next 5 years?
From what I have read, this group is expected to grow a lot. The need for nursing staff will increase due the aging baby boomers and the fact that people are living longer. There is a shortage of nurses and aides.

7.What is the most rewarding aspect about your profession to you?

The feeling of doing a good job; making the residents/patients feel better. Helping those who need an extra hand.

8.Ask them if you can have a copy of their job descripton?

LOL I don’t have a copy of my job description with me, but if you go here you’ll see a basic outline of what is expected. It really depends upon where you will be working: Nursing homes and hospitals will have very different descriptions, as will hospice and home health.
